As a San Francisco Engagement Photographer, learning gorgeous locations in the area is part of the job description. After researching, I found that the Marin Headlands, north of San Francisco, California is the perfect location for engagement sessions. If you are wanting romantic photos at sunset on the beach, this is your spot!
Vanessa and Ramin’s Engagement Session
Now let’s chat about Vanessa and Ramin’s engagement session at the Marin Headlands. This engagement session was so much fun and it was my first time shooting at the Marin Headlands. My clients were from San Jose, so we met near Point Bonita Lighthouse. You know what the crazy part is? These photos were taken in the middle of December and the weather was insanely warm for this time of year. Usually, heading to the Northern California coast is a gamble because of the chance of overcast skies, but not this time! The weather was just perfect!
How it started..
We began their engagement session at the Marin Headlands on the trail going towards the Point Bonita Lighthouse. We didn’t walk all the way to the lighthouse, but we did play on the nature bridge (first photo). This shot of Vanessa and Ramin on the nature bridge has been a shot I’ve wanted in my portfolio for a long time! It’s always fun as a photographer to brainstorm creations and then bring them to life, which is why I choose certain locations if my clients are down.
With there being NO CLOUDS, we were able to see the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco city skyline from the trail. Beautiful. We walked A LOT and we checked out abandoned military bunker structures, views of Rodeo Beach, and then for sunset photos we walked the trail down to South Rodeo Beach for running along the beach and champagne spraying photos! We had a blast!
