Elope in Yosemite! Your dream elopement in Yosemite National Park awaits! As your Yosemite Elopement Photographer, my goal is to provide location options for couples who don’t know where to go while finding the perfect spot that fits their vibe! Winter time brings a gorgeous mood in Yosemite and this couple wanted winter vibes!
With the couple being from Germany, they wanted to elope in Yosemite and find an expert who is familiar with the park and someone who could take them around to all the gorgeous spots for photos.
When I first spoke with Jasmin and Andre on our Zoom call, they told me how much they love winter which is why they choose wintertime to have their elopement and elope in Yosemite. What better place to have a wintery elopement than Yosemite!?
Honestly, we were all a little nervous with weather because having a winter elopement can be a gamble! Mother Nature was on our side on their wedding day – it was perfect!
Jasmin and Andre’s Wedding Day
Jasmin & Andre’s wedding was truly amazing and an unforgettable experience. The couple wanted to elope in Yosemite. Their day was beyond perfect and I still cannot believe how blessed we were with the most perfect weather ON the first day of winter in Yosemite!
We began the day by meeting at Tunnel View. Then, we headed to Bridalveil Falls for some more fun! It was crowded at some locations, but for a winter Saturday in Yosemite, it seriously wasn’t that bad compared to peak season like summer for example.
We all rode together, this way it’s easier, parking is easier, plus we can pull off anytime if there is a pretty spot, which I did. After Bridalveil Falls, we headed to Yosemite Chapel for photos, then to a gorgeous spot near The Ahwahnee Hotel where Half Dome peaks through the trees perfectly!
We headed to Sentinel Bridge next, but first got to enjoy the car ride a little longer since I took the turn to loop back around too early. If you are familiar with Yosemite, one-way roads are fun! So we looped back around and made it to Sentinel Bride (finally! ) then headed over to Cook’s Meadow for those perfect shots of Yosemite Falls.
Now.. it’s ceremony time! We hiked up to Mirror Lake for Jasmin and Andre’s ceremony. There were people, so the easily accessible spots on the lake were taken, so we walked a bit further.
We crossed a swampy mess to get across to where the beach was. It was totally worth it! The ceremony spot was private, seriously no one was around compared to the amount of people we saw. My husband officiated their ceremony, ending with a hand-fasting ceremony. Jasmin and her friends made the hand-fasting rope back in Germany, and it turned out beautiful!
We ended the evening at Mirror Lake finishing with photos after their ceremony, then hiked back after sunset. Moody lantern photos are a vibe! It got dark real quick, but we never needed the headlamps! If the hike was a little longer, we would have needed them for sure.
We had such a wonderful time bringing Jasmin and Andre an unforgettable experience in Yosemite.
I am always thrilled at the opportunity to explore Yosemite with couples from all over the World!
