Reserve the Ramada for Your Ceremony
Your Ramada booking allows you to bring an officiant and photographer without additional permitting for their work within that area. A separate Special Use Permit is not automatically required for a standard Ramada wedding. Additional activities or requests may need park approval.
Your Ramada reservation gives your group a designated place to gather and hold your ceremony. The public beaches elsewhere in Sand Harbor remain shared with other visitors, so we’ll plan shoreline portraits around the space available.

This is the official ceremony location within Sand Harbor. It’s reservable, structured, and ideal for couples bringing guests. You still get that beautiful Tahoe setting while staying fully within park guidelines.

Best Time of Day for a Sand Harbor Elopement
Midday gives you those bright blue Tahoe views, but summer beach traffic can be heavy. We’ll plan your ceremony and portraits around the light, your guests, and the locations we’re using.
For softer light, I love evening portraits. As sunset approaches, the shoreline takes on a different mood. We can photograph along the granite boulders, then stay for blue hour within park hours.
Your ceremony doesn’t have to happen right before sunset. We can plan an earlier ceremony, time to celebrate with your guests, and portraits later in the day.
I build your timeline around your date and priorities, allowing time for arrival, family photos, breaks, and the evening light.

Your Ramada reservation agreement determines the group size and setup allowed for your booking. Sand Harbor also accommodates larger events, but those fall outside the elopement services I offer.

Here’s a starting budget for a Sand Harbor elopement with me:
- Ramada group-area reservation - $400
- Four hours of photography & planning with me - Starts at $7,000
- Starting subtotal - $7,400
- Marriage license - check the issuing county’s current fee
- Officiant - Varies by provider
- Parking - Paid separately by each vehicle
The $7,400 subtotal covers your Ramada reservation and my starting photography and planning package. It is not the total cost of every part of your wedding.
My packages include a custom timeline, location guidance, vendor referrals, and help understanding the reservation process. I also handle the commercial photography permitting required for my work.
Depending on your plans, budget for attire, hair and makeup, lodging, meals, and any additional flowers or celebration details.
My planning advice: Choose how you want to spend your day before deciding on coverage. Getting ready, a first look, your ceremony, time with guests, and sunset portraits all need room in the timeline.

Do you need a permit to elope at Sand Harbor?
You need a Ramada group-area reservation for your wedding ceremony, regardless of your guest count. A separate Special Use Permit isn’t automatically required for a standard Ramada wedding.
Your booking allows an officiant and photographer within the reserved area. For portraits elsewhere in the park, a separate photography permit is required—I handle that for my work.

Late spring through early fall is the most popular time to elope at Sand Harbor because the weather is warm and the lake is calm. Summer offers the classic Lake Tahoe look with bright blue water, lots of crowds, while early fall can be quieter with fewer visitors and beautiful golden evening light.
Can you elope at Sand Harbor in Lake Tahoe?

Can we bring guests to our Sand Harbor elopement?
Yes! I photograph and help plan Sand Harbor elopements with up to 20 guests. That’s my service limit at this location. Your Ramada reservation agreement determines the park’s capacity and setup requirements.
Are dogs allowed at Sand Harbor?
Yes, during the dog-friendly season from October 16 through April 14. Dogs must stay on a leash no longer than six feet. If you want your pups included, we’ll plan your date and timeline around their needs.
How crowded does Sand Harbor get?
Sand Harbor is one of the most popular and most crowded locations in Lake Tahoe, especially in the summer. The beach can fill up quickly during the day. That’s why couples choose a later ceremony time closer to sunset, when crowds begin to thin out and the lighting becomes incredible for photos.
