Choosing where to elope is one of the biggest decisions couples make, and for Trevor and Nikki, Yosemite was an easy choice. They wanted a location that felt epic, peaceful, and completely surrounded by nature. With towering granite cliffs, waterfalls, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes in California, Yosemite National Park offers an unforgettable setting for couples who want a wedding day that feels adventurous and meaningful.
Planning a fall elopement in Yosemite made their day even more special. Autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons in the park. The crowds begin to thin out, temperatures cool down, and the valley fills with vibrant golden leaves. Some years Yosemite even surprises visitors with deep red foliage scattered throughout the valley.
Trevor and Nikki’s Yosemite Valley elopement was one of those days that felt unreal from start to finish which is why Yosemite is one of the most incredible places for an elopement in California.

Getting Ready for Their Yosemite Elopement
Trevor and Nikki started their day getting ready at a cozy Airbnb in Sonora, California just outside Yosemite National Park.
The morning felt relaxed and easy, giving them time to soak in the excitement of the day ahead before heading into the park for their elopement.

First Look Before Their Yosemite Elopement Ceremony
Before heading into Yosemite Valley, Trevor and Nikki shared a private first look together.
These quiet moments before the ceremony can be one of the most emotional parts of an elopement day. Seeing each other for the first time allowed them to slow down, connect, and take in the excitement before beginning their adventure in Yosemite.

Including Their Dog in Their Yosemite Elopement
Trevor and Nikki’s elopement wouldn’t have been complete without their dog joining them for the day.
Bringing your dog along can make an elopement feel even more personal, and their pup added so much joy to the experience. From getting ready moments to exploring Yosemite Valley together, their dog was right there celebrating alongside them.
Including pets in an elopement is a meaningful way to bring the whole family together for the day.

Fall Colors in Yosemite Valley
Once we arrived in Yosemite Valley, it was immediately clear this day was going to be special.
The fall colors in Yosemite were honestly the best I’ve ever seen. The valley was filled with vibrant yellow, gold, and even deep red foliage. Yosemite doesn’t always get that much red during the fall season, so seeing that much color throughout the valley was incredible.
Between the glowing fall trees and towering granite cliffs surrounding the valley floor, it created the most beautiful setting for a fall Yosemite elopement.

Swinging Bridge Ceremony in Yosemite Valley
Trevor and Nikki exchanged their vows at Swinging Bridge in Yosemite Valley, with incredible views of Yosemite Falls and the surrounding granite cliffs.
The ceremony felt peaceful and intimate with the sound of the river nearby and the quiet atmosphere of the valley.
Right after their ceremony, Trevor turned toward the valley and yelled “I’M MARRIED!” as loud as he could. The sound echoed off the granite walls and we all just started laughing. It was such a fun moment that perfectly captured the excitement of their day.

Meadow Portraits in Yosemite Valley
After their ceremony, we explored Yosemite Valley for portraits, starting in one of the open meadows.
The soft afternoon light glowing through the trees and golden grass made everything feel peaceful and quiet. With towering granite cliffs rising above the valley floor, the setting was perfect for their fall elopement in Yosemite.
While we were taking photos, a deer even wandered through the meadow nearby, which made the moment feel even more magical.

Yosemite Valley Chapel Portraits
Next we stopped near the Yosemite Valley Chapel, one of the most iconic landmarks in Yosemite National Park.
The small white chapel surrounded by towering granite cliffs and fall colors created such a beautiful contrast. It’s a simple location, but the views around it are incredible and make it a perfect stop while exploring the valley for elopement photos.

Half Dome Views in Yosemite Valley
One of the highlights of the day was capturing portraits with Half Dome towering above Yosemite Valley.
Seeing Half Dome rise above the trees and valley floor is one of those moments that reminds you just how incredible Yosemite National Park really is. The soft light, golden leaves, and dramatic granite landscape made the perfect setting for Trevor and Nikki’s fall elopement in Yosemite.

A Surprise Deer Encounter in Yosemite Valley
While we were taking photos in the meadow, a deer wandered through nearby.
Moments like this are part of what makes Yosemite so special. With the golden fall colors and soft light around them, it almost felt like the park was celebrating Trevor and Nikki’s fall elopement in Yosemite.

Peak Fall Colors in Yosemite
Trevor and Nikki’s elopement happened right during peak fall colors in Yosemite, and the valley was absolutely glowing.
Golden leaves covered the trees, with hints of deep red scattered throughout the landscape. Yosemite doesn’t always get much red in the fall, which made the colors feel even more special that day.
Between the vibrant fall foliage and the soft afternoon light, Yosemite Valley felt like the perfect place for their fall elopement in Yosemite.
Yosemite Valley has so many incredible spots to explore for photos, from open meadows and iconic viewpoints to peaceful areas along the river. One of my favorite quiet locations in the park is Mirror Lake in Yosemite, which offers beautiful reflections of the surrounding granite cliffs.

Tunnel View in Yosemite
Before heading up to Glacier Point, we made a quick stop at Tunnel View, one of the most iconic viewpoints in Yosemite National Park.
From here you can see El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall all in one incredible view of Yosemite Valley. With the golden fall colors filling the valley below, it was the perfect place for a few more photos before sunset.

Sunset Elopement Photos at Glacier Point
Later in the afternoon we headed up to Glacier Point for sunset, and we were so excited the road was open. Yosemite had received snow the week before, so we weren’t sure if we’d be able to make it up there.
Luckily it opened just in time.
The views overlooking Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and Yosemite Falls are some of the most breathtaking in the park. Watching the sunset light move across the valley was the perfect way to end Trevor and Nikki’s fall elopement in Yosemite.

Blue Hour at Glacier Point
After sunset we stayed for blue hour, when the sky turns deep blue and the granite cliffs begin to glow in the fading light.
With fresh snow on the higher peaks and the valley slowly darkening below us, it was the perfect quiet ending to their Yosemite elopement day.
