Dog Friendly Beaches in Lake Tahoe for Your Elopement

Planning to elope in Lake Tahoe and want your dog to be part of the day? You’re in the right place. From laid-back lakeside vibes to epic mountain backdrops, these dog friendly beaches in Lake Tahoe are perfect for saying your vows with your pup by your side.

Whether your dog is your adventure buddy or your honorary ring bearer, here are my favorite dog-friendly beach spots that work beautifully for elopements.

Kiva Beach – One of the Best Dog Friendly Beaches in Lake Tahoe

This is hands-down one of the best dog friendly beaches in Lake Tahoe. With views of Mt. Tallac and wide stretches of shoreline, it’s ideal for a quiet, scenic ceremony. Dogs are allowed off-leash if under voice control, so it’s a dream if your pup likes to explore. The sunsets here? Chef’s kiss.

Coon Street Dog Beach – A Hidden Gem in North Lake Tahoe

Located in North Lake Tahoe, this beach is small but mighty. It’s designated just for dogs and their humans, which makes it a super easy option for your elopement. It’s also close to cute local spots, so you can grab tacos or a drink after your ceremony and keep the celebration going.

Regan Beach – A Laid-Back Dog Friendly Option in Lake Tahoe

This beach has a dog-specific section and a more local, low-key feel. It’s not super private, but if you’re aiming for a laid-back elopement and want to keep things easy for your pup, it’s a solid option. Bonus: there’s a grassy area nearby for picnicking post-ceremony.

Hidden Beach – A Scenic Dog Friendly Beach in Lake Tahoe

Hidden Beach is stunning and feels… well, hidden. Dogs are allowed on-leash here, and the massive granite boulders and turquoise water make it one of the most picturesque dog friendly beaches in Lake Tahoe. It’s perfect for adventurous couples who want a more rugged, wild feel to their day.

A Few Quick Tips if You’re Bringing Your Dog:

  • Keep water, treats, and poop bags handy.
  • Bring a long lead for those off-leash moments.
  • Add a floral collar or bandana for some extra cute photos.
  • Avoid hot sand midday—it can burn sensitive paws.
