Eloping in Lake Tahoe | 8 Hour Elopement Day

Imagine eloping in Lake Tahoe (or anywhere really!), where your day is not confined by tradition, a stressful timeline, or.. a bunch of freakin people constantly trying to pull your attention. Picture sharing vows at the edge of a breathtaking cliff, on a secluded beach, or deep within a tranquil forest—just you, your love, and nature’s beauty.

An 8 hour elopement is about designing a day that is as vibrant as your love story! Every moment is authentic, intimate, and unforgettable. An all-day elopement isn’t just photos all day, it’s exploring, hopping around to different locations, maybe even exploring breweries!

An 8-hour elopement is ideal for couples wanting a stress-free, relaxed experience—from getting ready to sunset photos—without the traditional wedding pressure. It allows time for a scenic ceremony, an adventure together, intimate photos, and meaningful moments.

How would an all day elopement flow with the ceremony being in the middle of the day?

1. Getting Ready (1–1.5 hours)All Day Elopement

Begin your day with a calm morning in a cozy cabin, lakeside rental, or hotel. During this time, we’ll capture the two of you getting ready and your details, like “the dress shot,” flat-lays, shoes, accessories, etc. Maybe the two of you decided to get ready together, or decided to get ready separately solo, or with close friends and family.

2. Travel & First Portraits (0.5–1 hour)All Day Elopement

We can drive or hike to a scenic location nearby where you can enjoy a relaxed photo session together while capturing candids in-between with stunning backdrops. This time allows you to soak in the scenery together and enjoy peaceful moments before your ceremony.

3. Ceremony (0.5 hour)All Day Elopement

You’ll want to choose a unique, beautiful spot, such as a beach spot or forest clearing for your ceremony. Be sure to check if your desired ceremony location will require permits. Exchange your vows in a private, meaningful ceremony with a backdrop of nature. This can just be the two of you, or include some family and close friends. Elopements are intimate, so keep the guest count small. After the ceremony, share a champagne toast or snack!

4. Adventure Session (2–3 hours)

After your ceremony, we can explore more scenic locations with each location adding unique landscapes to your photos. This might include a hike to a mountaintop, kayaking on a lake, or strolling through fields or forests. Depending on what you want, you could incorporate a fun activity, like a picnic, boating, or paddle-boarding.

5. Sunset Photos & Celebration (1–2 hours)

The adventure doesn’t stop there! Your elopement day will end with sunset photos at an iconic spot that I will recommend to you. This golden hour lighting is ideal for capturing dreamy, soft lighting, romantic images. Enjoy the stillness, share a quiet moment together, light a campfire or simply take in the views.

This all day elopement flow gives you plenty of time to fully enjoy each moment and take in the natural beauty around you. Each element is customizable, allowing you to create a wedding day that’s unforgettable, adventurous, and uniquely yours.
